extracurricular

risd quickies (wintersession 2010)

  • spearheaded a six-week-long event at risd during our wintersession, in which workshops from all different majors took place every weekend. the goal was to return to the essence of what wintersession is supposed ot be here — to have time to try many different things, and gain exposure to other majors and their work. it also worked to foster a sense of interdisciplinarity on campus.
  • organized entire event with the help of a couple other students on campus, including communicating with workshop teachers, administration, staff and faculty; securing locations and materials for workshops each weekend; and managing and updating an email account, website, and blog.

Collabustration: a collaborative senior illustration show (fall 2009)

  • one of four senior illustration students who conceptualized and brought into being a collaborative illustration senior show — something that had never been done in the department before. every illustration senior got in pairs or groups of three or more to create work collaboratively.
  • organized everything ourselves, including holding meetings, designing posters and fliers, gallery installation, and coordinating food, drinks and music for opening night.
